Artist Mentor

As an artist mentor my purpose is to guide and support visual artists towards actualising their goals. Navigating the landscape of the art world can often feel overwhelming and intimidating, particularly for emerging artists. By working closely with artists 1:1, I aim to be a sounding board, building their confidence, clarity, resources and bringing structure to their practice

  • Building an audience and network

  • Connecting with the artist community and arts professionals

  • Clarifying an artist’s personal vision using their authentic voice

  • Finessing documentation including an artist’s statement and resume to add structure and depth in order to support their physical work

  • Finding relevant art prizes and opportunities suited to each individual artist

  • Assisting in the application process for grants, exhibitions and prizes

  • Employing strategies to set goals, work more consistently, maximise the amount of time spent making in order to increase productivity and produce better art

  • Confronting the challenges of creating, learning to adapt and overcome, pushing ahead with meaningful creativity

  • Post event and exhibition debrief, reflecting on outcomes, celebrating accomplishments and identifying potential areas for refinement

  • Achieving and sustaining momentum

Art Archivist

As an art archivist and collections specialist, I work closely with artists, studios, collectors, and institutions in establishing and maintaining archival systems. With best practice and efficiency in mind, I advise clients both how to formulate physical and digital archives as well as how to easily document and preserve them over time.

  • Establishing and maintaining physical archives for artists, collectors and institutions

  • Advising collectors, artists and galleries as to selecting the digital inventory management systems which best suit their needs

  • Leading workshops for artists and galleries focused on archival practice and legacy management

  • Researching and documenting for publication, including obtaining copyright permissions for text
    and images
